What’s in a name?

In 2015 the Flemish Yachthaven Nieuwpoort wanted to find a solution for the increasingly aging population in the yachtingworld. Lukas, Walt and Xavier were asked to tackle this problem. Quickly, they came about a creative and accessible initiative where young people were enthused for sailing and seasoned sailors could bring about their passion. NIYR , short for The Nieuwpoort International Youth Regatta, was born. Year after year the participants numbers grew, with the latest edition topping of at 250 young sailors and a fleet of over 60 yachts. At the moment we are the biggest competition in our class in the Benelux.

Time For Change

Individually we walked different career paths.
Walt went from realtor to R&D-manager and project developer at a large project devolopment firm. Xavier organised B2B-events for years for big partners at a renownd event agency. Lukas is a teacher and is leading the NIYR-project for several years now. Thanks to these different paths, U-BE has a lot of organisational expertise on board. By means of a hands-on approach, pragmatism and good team spirit U-BE spins like a well-oiled machine. Besides the in-house qualities, U-BE can fall back on many qualitative and trustworthy partners.
